Laboratory Examinations
Laboratory examinations include all of the checks performed prior to and on a regular basis in the workplace.

The Regulation law covers laboratory examinations and periodic examinations with international standards which take account of employee personal conditions, the hazardous classes and the qualifications of employment as a result of a risk assessment conducted in the workplace. In order to show the suitability of the new people to the occupational group they wish to work and make the right staff for the right work, it is extremely important to have biochemical, physiological and radiological applications.
The groups that pose a risk should be identified in advance in order not to adversely affect human health. Furthermore, these test applications of health screening are included as a reference for learning easily whether occupational health problems develop over time. These health reports are covered by legal requirements. Therefore, before entering work, the staff must pass these health tests.
Laboratory examinations are all of the controls that are carried out periodically and before entering the workplace.
What are Laboratory Tests?
What are the laboratory tests? The tests to be carried out are meticulously applied by the organizations. Special laboratory analyzes and examinations services for personnel are carried out with advanced technology products.
Complete blood count
Complete blood count and hematocrit values are measured to evaluate anemia or other blood diseases, allergic reactions and infections.
FULL URINALYSIS
Urine control is performed using microscopy or automatic devices. This method is used to examine problems such as inflammation and infection in the urinary tract, and to investigate kidney stones and diseases in the urinary area.
Metal Measurement on Blood and Urine
Heavy metal scanning analyzes the amount of potentially toxic metals present in blood or urine. It is learned whether heavy industrial workers are exposed to toxic substances in their environment. Heavy metal application is done over the blood sample taken from the arm vein.
Germ Carrier Scan
Germ carriers known as porter are made up of people who can infect the disease but do not show symptoms of the disease. Carrier examinations should be done every three months. Carrier scans, known as a physical examination, are performed within businesses that are workplace physicians. Specialist physicians apply these examinations in institutions that are not occupational physicians. The main laboratory examinations are applied from the portrait screening.
Laboratory Tests and Meanings
Laboratory tests and their meanings are an extremely wide topic. However, if we talk about some of them;
RBC – It shows the amount of cells that carry oxygen. In case of miscarriage, there is anemia or blood loss.
MCV – It is the average size of oxygen-carrying blood cells. If the MCV is low, the erythrocytes are smaller, and if it is high it means they are wider.
HB – It shows the total amount of hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin decreases in anemia.
HCT – It shows the amount of hemoglobin and erythrocyte in the blood. It helps to identify problems such as anemia, leukemia, and blood loss.
PLT – It shows the cells that provide coagulation.
WBC – It shows the number of defense and immune cells of the body.
Rules to Be Considered Before Laboratory Examinations
One of the rules to be considered before laboratory examinations is the necessity to be hungry before performing the analysis. This rule is extremely important, although the doctors who will ask for the test sometimes forget to tell their patients. However, people who are under treatment and constantly use medication can be tested. However, physicians are not aware of whether or not patients should stop their pre-analysis medication. The doctor should be informed about this. Ask your doctor whether you will use your medicine before the analysis or not. People think that any analysis can be done at any time of the day. But this is false information. The levels of some tests may change throughout the day. The tests performed during the day may reveal different results. For this reason, the tests are generally done in the morning hours.
