Workplace Measurements

Workplace physicians and health personnel are required in “workplaces with 50 or more employees,” according to Article 14 of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s Occupational Safety Regulation.

Why are workplace measurements required?

Within the scope of occupational health and safety regulation, it is stipulated that enterprises have workplace environment measurements made when necessary. It is the duty of the employer to protect the employees in the workplace from unnecessary or excessive factors. This can only be achieved with workplace environmental measurements. The Occupational Health and Safety regulation obliges employers to carry out studies to determine the risks that employees may be exposed to in the workplace working environment. According to Article 14 of the Occupational Safety Regulation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is mandatory to have workplace physicians and health personnel in “workplaces with 50 or more employees”.

What are the workplace environment measurements?

The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation stipulates that the dangers that employees are exposed to in the workplace are determined, measured and eliminated. These dangers may be caused by the excess or deficiency of foreign substances in the environment. In cases where the non-conformity of the substances cannot be determined visually as a result of the Risk Assessment, environmental measurements should be made.
